Heart and Vascular Center
As heart disease remains the leading cause of death in both men and women, Brigham and Women's Hospital continues to fight the disease with pioneering research that will improve the lives of our patients and their families. Successfully executing the first heart transplant in New England in 1984, BWH proudly represents a long history of cardiovascular breakthroughs. Through the Heart and Vascular Center Innovation Fund, we aim to support the many physician-scientists who devote their careers to exploring the underlying mysteries of cardiovascular disease. With this knowledge, these researchers hope to continue our reputation as innovative, world-renowned providers in cardiovascular medicine.
