Asthma Research Center


Today, more than 34 million people in the United States suffer from asthma. The Asthma Research Center at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, under the direction of Elliot Israel, MD, aims to find a cure of this debilitating inflammatory disease by examining asthma at the cellular and molecular levels to truly understand its cause and effect. The multidisciplinary team of this world-class Center is tackling pressing asthma questions regarding immune system responses, different tiers of severity, and patients’ varied reactions to medication as it strives for scientific breakthroughs that will permanently transform asthma care.
