On Marathon Monday, a perfect morning turned into a tragic day. We are grateful to report that all of our Team Stork members are safe. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims, the witnesses, and to all who are affected by this senseless tragedy.
While this has been an unspeakably difficult and heartbreaking week for all of Boston, we at Brigham and Women’s Hospital would still like to express our immense pride in Team Stork and all they have accomplished. Training and fundraising for a marathon is immensely challenging, often grueling, work. We are grateful to all of our team members for their grit, determination and, of course, their dedication to Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
The tragic images from the Boston Marathon finish line will stay with us for a very long time. But before terror struck, there were photos taken that day that exemplify great strength, courage, and personal triumph—everything a marathon should be. To recognize these moments and foster the memories that will help us move forward and heal, we offer these photos.
